
Arjuna Raphaël Pinel (also had as artist name Raphaël Mélik) is a creative and intuitive musician and composer from Cherbourg, Normandie, France, now living in Bonn, Germany. He has been working in Montreal, Canada, in Finland and in Germany around Köln and Düsseldorf, giving concerts, harp lessons, workshops and recording.
His main instrument is the celtic harp, he's been playing it for 19 years and the whole tones chromatic harp for 4 years. He has studied music at the University of Rennes in the Bretagne and with Anne-Marie Jan.
He also likes to play other instruments like the concertina (small Irish accordeon), the tin-whistle (Irish flute), the piano, the trumpet, oriental percussions (darabukka), the violin and the bass-guitar, which he uses to express different aspects of his rich musical ideas and improvisations.
He plays his own compositions from meditative-spacy to world-music inspired by jazz, celtic melodies, Latin and oriental rhythms.
